I should preface this by disclosing that I’m an old guy with crap hearing, especially in the higher ranges. I wear hearing aids out in the world and have trouble in crowded situations understanding speech. That said, with these earbuds I’m hearing more of the audio spectrum with more clarity than I have in a very long time. In some ways that’s not surprising. Jabra is also a major hearing aid manufacturer. The iOS app is simple and offers a reasonable selection of presets as well as allowing you to make eq adjustments yourself. I was actually stunned how good music sounds with these, even more so after I slightly tweaked the eq to accommodate my audio deficits. The Dolby 360º head tracking adds another enjoyable element of realism to the experience.

These Jabra earbuds are quite nice. They fit me very well and seem to disappear into my ear, being super comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The active noise cancellation is definitely better than any other set of earbuds I have used to-date. Sound reproduction is rich but not distorted and the app gives the user the ability to set custom equalization or load one of the presets.

When working out (I row and run), these earbuds stay put in my ears so I can focus on my workout and not keeping my equipment from falling off mid-workout. Battery life is more than plenty for my needs (I wear earbuds for 2-4 hours at a time) and the case does a great job of keeping them topped off. The case is one of the few areas of improvement that I can identify. It’s a nice matte finish but seems to pick up faint marks with relative ease when in my pocket so I need to be conscious of keeping it separate from everything but my leather wallet.

I know Jabra said they scanned over 60K sets of ears to develop the shape and while they work perfectly for me, none of the included earpieces fit my wife but in the Jabra’s defense, she has NEVER had a set of earbuds work for her. She’s probably a person who needs to have her ear canals scanned as they seem to be a complete aberration and have easily-rejected every earbud that has attempted to call her ears home.

My complaints are relatively minor which is why I am not deducting any stars. I think these are excellent, high-quality earbuds with easy controls that provide solid tactile feedback and eliminate any guesses about whether or not the intended button was pressed. This is a personal gripe I have with most other earbuds being touch-only and not providing any physical feedback for me. Battery life is good and these earbuds fit securely enough that I do not worry about them popping out under any ordinary circumstances. The mics do a great job of picking up my voice for transcriptions or phone calls while eliminating background noise. I haven’t tried using them under super-windy conditions yet but should the occasion arise, I will come back to this review and update it however given the performance thus far, I do not expect them to disappoint.
